A Guest Post by: Nicola Green ( Griff) ( Clinical Hypnotherapist )
As a Clinical Psychologist, I find it interesting to observe people. Unfortunately for my husband, that includes him!
Dave has been an Internet Marketer for four years now and I have to say that in all the years I’ve known him, it’s in those four years he’s changed the most.
What’s changed and why?
He found something he was passionate about.
He recognized that he could realize his dream.
He picked up a book
I’ve always known he could get passionate, just mention a Lancier Stratos and you can see him come over all funny!
Start talking about a Ford Focus WRC and he goes a bit wobbly.
Mention his dog Josie and he’ll immediately smile.
Of course, as his wife, I take top spot, but I would say that!
However, out of everything that’s surprised me on his journey, it’s the point about picking up a book that has amazed me.
Why? Well because Dave just didn’t read, even if it was about one of his hero’s (Aryton Senna).
But when he joined Empower Network, they really knocked it into you that you had to do certain things in order to succeed and one of those was to read for 20 minutes a day.
As a result of Dave picking up a few motivational books,he became more motivated, more focused on what he needed to do plus his general viewpoint was much more positive.
I know, given my profession, that a change has to be significant in order for your nearest and dearest to notice it, especially if you’re living with them every day of the week. I notice huge changes in my clients, but that’s because I only see them once a week or maybe once a month. Therefore, to notice a change within yourself its even more tricky and that’s why people can give up.
The brain learns by repetition – this is a fact. If you start to do something new repeatedly, you will start to do it automatically after a while. You have to hardwire it into the brain and you do this by repetition. The results can be quite substantial.
For those of you who have worked out what it is you want to achieve, whether that’s health, wealth or simply happiness, picking up a good book and reading just a couple of pages at the start of the day can make a big impact.
