How I Started on the Internet

When I get asked how I started out making money online, it seems everyone
assumes I was an IT graduate or some kind of tech head who had always been in
the field. Not true, in fact very far from it. I was a drop out.
Sure I did sell calculators and computers in my very first business after
leaving school, but that was long before household computers were ever accessing
the internet in homes.
My story began in mid 1999 when around three things came into play in my life.
Firstly, I got a job with a very “do as you please boss” who simply said, here’s
your new email and internet at your workspace, use this to help us get better
sales leads for our recruitment company. Have fun using the internet, he said.
He didn’t care how long I was online or what I did, however I did make them a
ton of money with sales leads from my telemarketing.
Secondly, I was holding personal development seminars for singles with guest
speakers each month and I was already spending money promoting each event, I was
looking for better ways to reach the masses. Advertising in the Sydney Morning
Herald was bleeding me dry, so I was keen to look for other ideas.
Thirdly, I came across Soulmates World advertised in the 9 to 5 city weekly
magazine I was promoting my business in. They also wanted to speak with me too
down at Circular Quay. The high point of the first meeting with the owners was
to discover they had over 35,000 people registered on the website personals. I
was dumb struck to say the least.
Next thing was they said I could have a free website and even have a shop online
to promote my seminars – and above all that they would set me up with an
affiliate account so I can earn money referring customers back to them. You
could say they gave me a free business ready to go. I felt so great about it. An
IT friend of mine helped me with registering my first domain which we named:
www.simplysolo.com
and a short time after that – I was earning real cash online in fact my first
online check was $385.00 at the time I thought it was crazy as I didn’t feel
like I worked at all that hard for it.

Fast Forward to Today:
Today I have registered a network of over 25 websites. I earn an online income
from everything covering singles dating, life coach marketing programs, real
estate education courses and my own marketing consulting business.
I guess the best part about this all is that I earn money passively and without
having to rely on a traditional job. In fact it seems the less I work, the more
I tend to make. As my business runs on “auto-pilot” meaning that it’s automated.
I literally have thousands of customers buying from me online around the world.
All with very low overheads, to keep my profits high and my stress levels low.
Let’s face it, most people who go into business have quite a few worries even if
they are very good at making a dollar. What’s more very few can’t take a holiday
away and simply relax. And if you’re in a job, it seems that you always have to
watch over your shoulder, Industrial Relations laws mean you might get the sack
at any time or you simply have to work untold hours or an extra job just to
cover the next interest rate hike.
Can you do what I have done for yourself?
You certainly can.
If you have the desire to earn passive online income, able to put in a few hours
each week, a willingness to learn new ideas and apply them. You’ll be fast on
your way to making your own online income streams and have the option but not
the obligation to work at whatever your current occupation happens to be.
